Ranchi: Cybercriminals have adopted a new method of cheating these days. Cyber criminals are hacking savings accounts and converting them to FDs to break into people's accounts. After converting to FD, money is being raised from the account by demanding OTP from the account holder. Ranchi Police has issued a poster alerting about this. In this, the methods of cheating and the measures to be avoided are explained. City SP has released the poster on the instruction of SSP Surendra Kumar Jha. This poster has also been directed to publicize all the police stations.

When the message reaches zero balance on the victim's mobile, then people are convinced about his statement.
- Thugs ask them to tell the OTP that comes on the mobile by pretending to return the money.

- The amount withdrawn from the account is transferred to the account of the thugs.

Cyber criminals hack the account of people and get FD of the money in it. This FD is made for one day. So on the same day or a few hours later its duration is completed.
In such a situation, the thugs have a maximum of 12 hours to complete their game. They ask for the OTP from the account holder and transfer the funds directly from the FD to their account as soon as the OTP is received.
If the OTP is not disclosed, the money cannot go into the account of the thugs.
