Explanation:- This beautiful story has been written by
Alphonse Daudet. There are two main character in this
story , M. Hamel is a teacher in the schools of Alsace
and Lorraine. He has been teaching therefor 40 years.
According to this story M. Hamel is a crancky teacher
and little Franz is not a a crazing student M. Hamel is
a very strict teacher but internally he is very soft. He
loves his students too much. On the other hand little
Franz is a different boy. He does not want to go to
school. One day when he was started his school very
late in the morning. He was in a great dread of a
scolding because of questions on participle. But when
he reached in the school nothing happened. He found
that the school was as quiet as Sunday morning. The
whole school was strange and Solemn. Some villages
where sitting in the classroom on the back benches and
everyone was sad. It was because of an order from
Berlin.
Conclusion:- When little Franz come to know about it
he forget all about M. Hamel and he is terrible iron
ruler.In the very end of the story M. Hamel took a piece
of chalk and wrote on black board as large as he could.
"viva la France" and made a word with his hand
"school is dismissed you may go".

were sitting. Everybody looked very sad. The order from Berlin had hurt
their feelings.

Ans:- Franz felling about M. Hamel and school change was very interesting
first all of Franz was not intelligent student in the school when M. Hamel
sir was given a task in the class than Franz had not completed the task on
participle.
So, M. Hamel sir scolded him. Franz had
no intrest in French language but, when he knew this is the last
lesson of French . He was very sad and he was completely understand ‘The
Last Lesson’ who teach M. Hamel.

1. 1. The people in this story
suddenly realize how precious their language is to them. What shows
you this? Why does this happen?
Ans:- M. Hamel said that
it was the last French lesson. It was the last day of M. Hamel in the school of
Alsace and Lorraine . He informed all the people that from the next day only
German language would be taught in the schools of Alsace and Lorrain. As soon
as they knew this news they became sad. It shows how much they love their
language . It happens because they are
sorrow for not learning their language. As well as it shows that language is
the key to persion and how precious is mother tongue for everybody.
2 2. Franz thinks, “Will they
made them sing in German, even the pigeons?” What could this mean?
Ans:- When little Franz was sitting in the classroom , suddenly he heared on the roof the pigeons cooed very low then he things himself that will they make them sing in German even the pigeons. It means that no body can get a fully freedom on birds and animals.
